Getting a Marriage License in Macomb County
Michigan law is straightforward, but the timing catches couples off guard. Here is what you need to know before your wedding day in Warren.
- Where to apply:the Macomb County Clerk's Office, 120 N. Main Street in Mount Clemens. At least one of you must be a Macomb County resident to apply here.
- Three-day wait: the license is not valid until three days after you apply, not counting the day you apply. Macomb County will waive the wait for an additional fee if you are in a hurry.
- Cost and expiration: $20 if one of you lives in the county, $30 for out-of-state applicants. Once issued, the license is good anywhere in Michigan for 33 days.

It also means we are not simply a signature for hire. Pastor Eli will pray with you, counsel you, and follow up with you after the wedding if you want him to.
