The Gospel of Jesus Christ
Who is Jesus Christ to you?
Is He your Saviour? Is he your Door to Eternal Life?
Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) gave his life to save men from hell
God loves you and has a purpose for your life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16
The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners
Our sins have separated us from God. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 By our very nature we are sinners and sin keeps us from a Holy God.
God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For
“For the wages of sin is death….” Romans 6:23. Wages means payment. The payment of our sin is death and hell, (separation from God forever). If we continue in our sin, we shall die without Christ and be without God forever.
The Good News Is That Christ Paid For Our Sins
All of our sins were laid on Christ at the cross. He paid our sin debt for us. The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross, and He was burried and He arose from the dead. He is alive forevermore. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
We are Sinners by Birth and by Deed
Although Christ paid our sin debt, we are still separated from a Holy and perfect God because of our depraved condition. The God of the Bible sees man for what he truly is; corrupt and filthy and of no value or good in his fallen state. The Bible says, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;” Isa 64:6. Because of our sin we have already been condemned to an eternal hell – “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” John 3:18 & 19
Repentance is Required for Salvation, But we must be forgiven
You must see yourself as you really are before God. When you see God as Holy and Righteous and truly humble yourself before Him, you can not help but to cry for His mercy. God requires repentance and faith, the Bible says, “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Acts 20:21
What is repentance? Repentance, at its core, is a change of mind. It is not feeling sorry for sin, nor cleaning yourself up before coming to God. It means agreeing with God — that you are a sinner, that sin has a real penalty, and that you cannot save yourself by works, good intentions, or religious effort. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
Repentance is turning. It is turning from whatever you were trusting in — your own goodness, your religion, the opinions of the world — and placing your faith fully in the Lord Jesus Christ, who shed His blood on the cross of Calvary to pay for your sin in full.
Repentance is not works. The change that follows — new desires, new direction, turning from sin — is the fruit of genuine repentance, not the price of it.
God’s Love extends to all those who will turn to Him
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” II Peter 3:9. The Bible also says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13
Salvation is by the Power and Grace of God
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” Ephesians 2:8
New Life
Everlasting life begins when we truly believe on Christ as our Savior. Every soul that has ever truly been saved, has been given a new life (made a new creature). The Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” II Cor 5:17. We have a new destination heaven is now our home and nothing can change that.
