Who is Jesus Christ to you?

Is He your Lord and Saviour?

Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) gave his life to save men from hell

God loves you and has a purpose for your life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16

The Bible Says That All Men Are Sinners

Our sins have separated us from God. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 By our very nature we are sinners and sin keeps us from a Holy God.

God’s Word Also Says That Sin Must Be Paid For

“For the wages of sin is death….” Romans 6:23. Wages means payment. The payment of our sin is death and hell, (separation from God forever). If we continue in our sin, we shall die without Christ and be without God forever.

The Good News Is That Christ Paid For Our Sins

All of our sins were laid on Christ at the cross. He paid our sin debt for us. The Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross, and He was burried and He arose from the dead. He is alive forevermore. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

We are Sinners by Birth and by Deed

Although Christ paid our sin debt, we are still separated from a Holy and perfect God because of our depraved condition. The God of the Bible sees man for what he truly is; corrupt and filthy and of no value or good in his fallen state. The Bible says, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;” Isa 64:6. Because of our sin we have already been condemned to an eternal hell – “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.” John 3:18 & 19

Repentance is Required for Salvation, we must be forgiven

You must see yourself as you really are before God. When you see God as Holy and Righteous and truly humble yourself before Him, you can not help but to cry for His mercy. God requires repentance and faith, the Bible says, “Repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Acts 20:21

God’s Love extends to all those who will turn to Him

“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” II Peter 3:9. The Bible also says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13

Salvation is by the Power and Grace of God

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” Ephesians 2:8

It is Your Willingness, but God’s Work

Your heart must long for repentance and righteousness as well as a confession. Too many are confessing Christ and righteousness with their mouths, but the heart does not agree. The Bible says, “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” Romans 10:10. When your heart is changed by the power of God, so will your desires and deeds change toward Him.

New Life

Everlasting life begins when we truly receive Christ as our Saviour. Every soul that has ever truly repented and been saved, has been given a new life (made a new creature). The Bible says, “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” II Cor 5:17
